FUTURE/NOSTADAMUS

Jeremiah Jacobson was born in a small suburb outside of Montreal, Canada to very young parents. His father, Jake, was still in high school. His mother, Josephine, was a drug-addicted prostitute. Life had been hard on her, when she was child her parents beat her and her only escape was through the world of drugs and prostitution. Jake met Josephine on a dare from his high school friends. Little did his horny mind realize that his first time would lead to his first born. Jeremiah was born nine months later, unfortunately for him, poor Josephine could not stop her addiction to drugs. During her pregnancy, shetried just about every drug known and unknown. Once while tripping on some incredibly bad acid, she had an awful nightmare. She saw Jeremiah as a teen in a straight-jacket in what appeared to be an insane asylum. She blew the vision off as having part of the trip. When she gave birth to Jeremiah, she tracked Jake down and confronted his family. Jake and Josephine were forced to marry. And this was how the Jacobson family was created. My Childhood: Jeremiah had a relatively mediocre childhood. Nothing to exciting. He lived in a bad apartment in a bad area of Montreal.

His mother loved him. His father endured him. They were not bad parents because they provided for him. They never hit him. Hejust was not happy. So anyway, blah blah blah, when he was six, he had a terrible nightmare. In the nightmare, his mother was lying still in a corner. Her nose was stained with blood and cocaine. When he awake from the nightmare, he was in shock and in much pain. When he told her what he saw, she became incredibly frightened. Josephine had tried her hardest to give up drugs. She had given up eveything except for cocaine.

However, she took this as a warning and swore to herself that she would stop. However, poor little Jeremiah would keep having these horrific dreams. Each was worse and worse, some involved himself or people close to him, others involved people he did not recognize, people from far away places, some even of creatures not of this world. There is one vision that Jeremiah will always remember. It involved him and another young man holding each other. They are embraced in a passionate kiss. This is probably one ofthe few visions, that make Jeremiah smile to this day. Jeremiah would tell his parents about these dreams, but his father dismissed them, while his mother took them as divine dreams of God. She thought of Jeremiah as a godsend and that for how awful her life was, he would make things better.

Things, however, would get worse. My Insanity: And things did get worse. Try as hard as she could, the power of addiction is incredible. Poor Josephine passed away two days after Jeremiah's 15th birthday. He was devastated, Jake was free. Jeremiah would still have visions, but the pain from them paled in comparison to the loss of his mother, but one day he had what was most likely his most gruesome vision. Two children were kidnapped and molested by a pedophile, then brutally murdered. He could feel the anguish of the children. He remembered the dream with perfect detail. He tols his father, who cared nothing about it. He only thought his son was crazy. Jeremiah researched every aspect of his dream and then realized the murder would take place in Peru. When he tried to warn authorities in Peru and Canada, nothing was done. Months later, while watching the news, Jake realized his son was telling the truth.

Then he remembered his son's dream about his mother. He deduced his soas a mutant and had him institutionalized. Jeremiah was shipped to an insane asylum in Upstate New York. The poor boy actually thought he was crazy. He spent two years. Two incredibly long years there. He never spoke of what happened while he was there. He truly thought he was insane. The only positive thoughts he had were of his dream of his embrace with the young man and of another vision he had while a patient at the clinic. It was himself dressed in a superheroic costume. He is gathered with other young people and they are battling various villains. After he had that vision, he realized he was not crazy. He proved he was not and Jeremiah is a mutant blessed and cursed with the ability to see into the future.

He has manifested three different aspects of this power: Sixth Sense, Tactile Precognition, and Visions. Each is described under their own subheading.

After proving his sanity, J.J. was released. He has since moved to NYC. The home of many heroes. He feels here, he will find his true love and true life as a hero. A hero for the Future. Precognition: Jeremiah is a mutant blessed and cursed with the ability to see into the future. As a child, Jeremiah was cursed with horrific nightmares showing grim futures for the world. He thought he was crazy until he starting reading about his dreams in the newspaper. He realized he was seeing the future. Accepting his fate as a mutant, he has since learned to control his abilty. He has manifested three different aspects of this power: Sixth Sense, Tactile Precognition, and Visions.

Each is described under their own subheading. Sixth Sense: Using an aspect of his precognition, Jeremiah is constantly aware of his environment and as such he will know when an attack will occur beforehand. The power is very similar to Spiderman's spider-sense or Ms. Marvel's sixth sense. However, this sense work only seconds before the attack will occur, so it may or may not be enough time depending on the type and severity of the attack. This awareness does not work on a telepathic level, so psi-screens can defend against it.

Tactile Precognition: This is another aspect of Jeremiah's ability. Jeremiah cannot simply predict someone's future by being asked. He would have to make physical contact. The longer the contact, the more detailed, clearer, more accurate the prediction becomes. He often uses palm-reading as a means of using this aspect of his power. He will never tell anyone what he sees unless the ask. Also he cannot control what he sees. For example, if someone asks when they will die, he may not see that. Instead he may see the birth of their children or when they get married. He cannot specifically search for an answer, it must come naturally. Visions: Perhaps the most horrifying aspect of his power, this is the reason Jeremiah considers his power a curse. These visions come to Jeremiah when he is asleep. He dreams of the future of world events. He can see wars, natural disasters, assassinations, etc. These nightmares often frighten him and leave him incredibly weak when he awakens. The visions are often followed by pounding headaches. The effects are similar to a hangover. He is lucky enough that these visions do not come to him often, but when they do Jeremiah is left helpless, scared, and in pain. However as painful as the visions are, Jeremiah uses them as a guide for his life. If he sees a vision that directly involves him, he will pay extra attention and will try to look for clues so as to alter or prevent the outcome. For example, while a patient at the Weisman Institute, he saw a vision of himself as a member of a superhuman team of heroes. It was because of this vision, he has moved to New York City to find these heroes. He had no way of knowing where or when he would meet these heroes, nor does he know who they are. But he realized since many superhumans appear to be based in NYC, he has moved there. Now one may ask, can Jeremiah affect the future of world events that do not directly involve him? The answer depends on the nature of the vision. For example: As a child, he had a vision of children murdered in Peru. After the vision, Jeremiah was able to research what he saw in it and was able to decipher the location of the children. But he was not able to decipher when it would occur. He told his father and tried to tell the Peruvian authorities, but nothing was done till it was too late, thus the future was not changed. He will try to change what he can. But unfortunately since he cannot control what he sees, he cannot know for certain when or where the event will occur, thus he cannot alter it before it happens. Can he prevent a war from occuring? No. Can he prevent a flood, earthquake, volcano, etc from causing major property damage? No. HOWEVER, if he is able to figure out where the natural disaster will occur, he can then warn the authorities to take proper precautions. Can he prevent a death? No. But he can warn the victim, he realized this after the Peruvian incident. If he finds out the details, (such as how, why, when or what), then he can affect or prevent the outcome. Fortunately, these visions do not come often. But when they do, Jeremiah regrets them (see flaws). Ultimately, Jeremiah seeks to better his life and the lives of others, if he can.

Palm Reading: Jeremiah is an expert at palm reading. With the nature of his powers, he is incredibly accurate. He often frightens people with his keen observations and insights. But the most frightening aspect is that his predictions come true. This is alsoan outlet for his powers as they are based on touch. He often uses palm reading as an excuse to learn more about people. Aim: Jeremiah is an expert marksman. As a mutant, he is aware of the current social climate. Mutants are pariahs, and there are those who would harm or even kill them. He has taken the proper precautions. He is adept with guns, archery, and throwing objects such as knives or stars. He would never kill anyone unless it was necessary. He would only defend himself.

Dream Interpretation: Jeremiah is adept at interpreting dreams. As one who can predict the future, his powers works via visions. Having been able to interpret his own visions, his close friends feel confident enough in hi{s ability that they often go to him when they have had nightmares or very symbolic or unusual dreams. His interpreations are only what he thinks. His mutant power does not allow for dreams. It is only his opinion, but he makes people feel better when he has interpretted their dreams. Handgun: Jeremiah always carries a handgun with him for protection. He looks normal, and is not obviously seen as a mutant, but you never know. He carries it with him only for protection, and will not purposely kill anyone. Asylum: When Jeremiah was younger, he was sent to the Weisman Institute by his father. This was an incredibly low-point for Jeremiah, as he truly believed that he was insane. However, the more time he spent, the more he realized that he was not insane. During his two year stay, he proved his sanity and even made friends of the patients and staff. Jeremiah is always welcome back there and can rely on the Institute for any help that he needs. Asylum: When Jeremiah was younger, he was sent to the Weisman Institute by his father. This was an incredibly low-point for Jeremiah, as he truly believed that he was insane. However, the more time he spent, the more he realized that he was not insane. During his two year stay, he proved his sanity and even made friends of the patients and staff. Jeremiah is always welcome back there anf can rely on the Institute for any help that he needs. Insanity: When {Jeremiah's powers first burst forth, he had violent headaches and saw horrific visions of a world goen insane. When he first mentioned his visions to his father, he thought his son was being foolish. But when he predicted the death of two children in Peru. Their deaths were horrible in nature. His father thought he was crazy for coming up with such a gruesome story. However, when he researched the story, he realized his son was telling the truth.He also realized his son was a mutant. He had his son institutionalized. During his year-long stay at the asylum, he was declared insane. He had to struggle to prove that he was not insane. He proved he was not and was allowed to leave, but always on the back of his mind, he will always doubt his own sanity. If he is not insane, then he is cursed with those visions. Headaches: When Jeremiah has visions of the future, they often appear as nightmares. After the nightmares end, he suffers from extremely painful headaches that leave him incredibly drained and weary. It is a struggle for him to even}move, but he manages. Visions: Jeremiah screams in pain and agony as he dreams of the future, which is often grim and horrible. The more horrible, the more painful. He considers these visions a curse, but he also accepts them as he is a mutant and would not change that for the world. He lives with the pain. For he realizes, that no matter how much pain he is in, the world is in for a much more pain.

Personality for Jeremiah (JJ) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ CURSED: Jeremiah Jacobson has always felt as if life has handed him one helluva card. Not only is this 18 year old a mutant with the ability to see intot he future. He is also gay. And while he does not mind it, he realizes that there are many{people do. He accepts what he is, but sometimes he wishes he was not, but only sometimes. SECRETIVE: Because of the time he spent in an asylum, Jeremiah realizes that not everyone is ready to accept a man who can see the future. He keeps his visions secret. He carries this secretive nature into his normal life. He does trust people, but it takes time for him to establish a rapport. HEROIC: Most of Jeremiah's visions tend to be horrific, while he realizes he cannot change the future, he will do his best to prevent it. He will aid whoever he can for the sake of being a good kind person.

GAY: Jeremiah is indeed a homosexual. He realizes that this added to the fact that he is a mutant makes him even more of an outcast, but as everything else, he accepts this. He is actually gay about being gay, in other words, he is happy. He enjoys the idea and revels in his difference. However, while enjoying the lifestyle, he does not fit the stereotype. It is not obvious that he is gay and he would not share that with just any person. However, if he sees a good-looking man, he may glance every now and then and may flirt, depending on his state of mind at the time.

Handsome-looking Caucasian male in his late teens to early twenties. This black-haired, brown-eyed stands to weigh about 170lbs. He is lean yet muscular, which is displayed by the tight black mesh shirt he is wearing. He wears tight leather pants revealing that he is indeed some sort of sprinter.
